Event updates (covid-19)

28th April, 2020

Dear rider,

Thank you for your patience regarding news of your RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley entry.

Your RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley 2020 registration will be transferred to the RBC GranFondo Whistler 2021 which is on Saturday September 11th 2021 in Vancouver / Whistler, Canada. We have made this decision for several reasons:

– Currently we do not have a date scheduled for the 2021 RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley  so we do not wish to cause more confusion by transferring you to this event when it is not yet confirmed. If and when the 2021 event is confirmed, you will have the option to transfer your entry to that event.

– Whilst the 2020 RBC GranFondo Whistler is scheduled to go ahead as planned we are aware that many of you are already entered into the event, and others may be nervous to commit to events in 2020 given the ongoing situation with COVID-19. However if you would like your entry to be transferred to this year that is perfectly possible, please let us know using the form below.

– We have a no refund policy, as stated on our website and during the registration process, however, we hope that this transfer to 2021 offers reasonable comfort.  We are a small professional business that operates a full staff year round.  We hope that you understand why we’ve taken this direction.

We will advise you in the coming months with details as to how to transfer your entry to the 2021 RBC GranFondo Whistler. In the meantime if you would prefer to transfer your entry to the 2020 RBC GranFondo Whistler please let us know here using the form that we emailed to you with this statement on April 28th, 2020. These transfer requests to the 2020 RBC GranFondo Whistler must be completed by 1st August 2020.

We know that you have likely heard this before, but this is an unprecedented time for the event industry and many organisers are struggling to keep the events they have created afloat. We love cycling just as much as you and it is heartbreaking to see the industry suffer like this.

Your understanding in this tough time is thoroughly appreciated and will help make a difference in allowing events such as this to return in future years!

Event Notice

Dear riders & supporters,

Thank you for your patience over the past few weeks. During this time, we have been working hard behind the scenes to consider all possible options for the future of the RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley given the COVID-19 pandemic. After careful consideration and with heavy hearts we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 event. We are as disappointed with this outcome – our team works tirelessly on this event year round and we love bringing you this amazing experience, showcasing the beauty of California.

Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

Stay home and stay healthy,

The RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley team

19th March, 2020

Dear dedicated RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley participants and supporters,

Like you, we are closely observing the coronavirus situation in California and beyond.

With an ever-changing landscape presenting unique challenges for all of us, we are committed to communicating with you fully over the next 90 days before June’s RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley.

To bring you up to speed with developments, we are currently engaged in ongoing conversations with our stakeholders and continue to closely monitor the latest government and public health authority directives.

As a small business that lives for putting on some of the best events known to two wheels, our fingers are very much crossed that things will go according to the detailed and exciting plans that we’ve been working on as a team over the past year.

This being said, the health and safety of all participants, volunteers and staff is as ever our central concern and our highest priority will always be making decisions that put peoples’ well being first. Should there be a need to adjust the event delivery in any shape or form, we will immediately inform you.

Ourselves being cyclists like you, we are just keen to ride our bikes. Thank you for your continued support of the biking community that we all value beyond words, and know that our best wishes are with everyone as we all look to move forward together.

From everyone on the team
