A ride for everyone
Whether you’re looking to take on your first Gran Fondo or have legs hungry for a big challenge, we’ve created experiences for every type of rider.
On Sat June 20, choose between the Medio 47 mile category with ~4k ft elevation or the Gran Fondo 71.5 mile category including ~7k elevation – with all the details and features below.
Less of the distance; all of the awesome
We’ve introduced the Medio: a 47 mile shorter option to let you focus less on your legs and more on having fun.
Rolling out of East Palo Alto, Medio riders will enjoy the glorious redwood-dotted Open Space Preserves overlooking the City before swinging a right at Skyline Blvd, stopping in at Thomas Fogarty Winery for a delicious lunch and optional wine-tasting and then making for the timed finish above the town of Woodside to remove 1,700ft of climbing vs the Gran Fondo 71.5 mile category.
From here, you’ll rejoin the Gran Fondo field to parade triumphantly downhill all the way home.
Wine tasting & e-bike friendly
Thomas Fogarty Winery rest-stop
The Medio will be stopping in at Thomas Fogarty Winery at approximately mile 21 for a delicious lunch – and yes – wine tasting!
Since 1981, the Thomas Fogarty Winery has been making single vineyard estate Chardonnay & Pinot Noir that have helped to lead the revival of the SCM appellation. Their stunning mountain-top location, located on the scenic Skyline Blvd between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, offers breathtaking views along with wines that highlight the best of the appellation.
E-bike friendly
With e-bikes one of the fastest growing areas in cycling, and our goal to encourage participation in healthy, active lifestyles, we are delighted to welcome e-bikes into RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley. In the spirit of challenge, e-bikes will NOT be timed on course – the point is simply to have fun.
The classic
Gorgeous climbs, breathtaking descents and heart-in-your-mouth views are just some of the glorious reasons to ride RBC GranFondo Silicon Valley. From our Four Seasons Silicon Valley Hotel base in East Palo Alto, the course takes in some of the best riding the area has to offer, including passing through numerous County Parks and Open Space Preserves on a loop that’ll leave you wanting to do it all over again.
Terún Italico Rest-stop takeover in Pescadero
The Gran Fondo’s 2nd rest stop in Pescadero will be curated by Franco Campilongo and his award-winning Terún Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Look forward to a full brunch offering, including: pasta salad, potato croquettes, egg and zucchine frittelle, assorted italian panini and other surprises.
